Welcome
Welcome, and thank you for taking the time to learn more about me, and my sincere desire to serve as your next Henderson City Councilman.
We face great challenges in these tough economic times and I firmly believe we need people on the City Council with a proven track record. From fighting crime, to fighting the status quo, I have a record of accomplishments, and the executive experience to help steer Henderson through these troubled times.
Service to my community isn’t new to me or my family. My 29 years on the Henderson Police force, and the time I served as your police chief, prove that I have experience that counts. But I also have a commitment to this community that matters, working with organizations like Big Brothers Big Sisters, Boy’s and Girl’s Clubs, and coaching youth sports.
I’ve worked my entire adult life in Henderson. I raised my family in Henderson, sent my kids to school in Henderson, and I’m proud to be living the happiest days of my life with my beautiful wife, right here in Henderson.
We have one of the highest foreclosure rates in the county, and the only way to solve it is by creating jobs. We need to encourage small businesses to grow in Henderson, and that means we need to streamline the way government works and cut out all the red tape. We also need to be mindful of other municipalities looking to steal our major employers, like Las Vegas is doing right now with Zappos.com.
This campaign is about the future of Henderson. What kind of a city do we want to live in, raise our kids in, and live out the golden years in?
I believe I’m the best candidate for the job because of my executive level experience and my deep commitment to this community. Knowing how to manage a budget, a staff, set goals, and be held accountable for what I do.
Thank you again for taking the time to learn more about me, and my campaign for Henderson City Council.
While I have served this community my entire adult life, I do not want you to vote for me for what I have accomplished; vote for me for who I am, for my honesty, for my integrity, for my sincerity, and know that I will always listen to your concerns fairly, with an open mind.
Sincerely,
Mike Mayberry
